12. October 2026: A Rainy Day

I used my study hall to finish my German homework. My mom drove me to the college, and I went to History. The professor gave another lecture on Greece. He talked a lot about Alexander the Great, so that was interesting. German was pretty normal. This guy came in at the end of class to tell us about the college’s exchange programs and in his video there was a picture of a group of students in Germany, posing around a statue and pointing up at it, right arms fully extended like oh my gods stupid Americans why am I a part of this country (*/_\). And he was talking about how this exchange program is different from other colleges’ because they prepare their students beforehand like CLEARLY NOT “(ノ _ <,, ).

Okay, mini-rant over. This was not the only picture like this in that video btw. It was bad. But anyways. My mom picked me up and brought me back to the high school. I ate some lunch and went to my next class.

In English we read a few excerpts from Beowulf. Apparently we are not going to be reading the whole thing which is kinda disappointing… it’s so short too, like it’s not like it would take forever… (¬⤙¬ ) And we had to read part of this random graphic novel too and tell me why the artist made Grendel look like Venom. He was way cooler in my head. I mean don’t get me wrong, Venom’s cool. But I pictured him being like this giant, muscly beast with long, curved claws and instead had to look at pictures of a rip-off Marvel character with a weird hair-do and a octopus dick. Kinda dampened the mood is all ɿ(◉_◉)ɼ.

I guess that the teacher is trying to get a bunch of students, who, for the most part, could not care less, to be engaged but it’s not working and I just wish that we could actually read literature in a literature class… Not that graphic novels aren’t literature, of course. It’s just that this particular graphic novel does not compare to the epic… and also it is just not the literature in the syllabus (._.).

It has been doing what the weather app calls “misting” all day. It finally started actually drizzling a few minutes ago (it is 3:15 PM/15:15). Basically it has been a cold and dreary day, and I can’t wait to go home and curl up in my blankets or sit by the fire or something ( ∩´ ᐜ `∩)♡. I love the rain but I don’t really like “misting,” not when I have to go out in it anyways. It just gives me this feeling like my bones are cold {{(๑-﹏-๑)}}.

My sister had this thing for choir after school, so I had to stay at school until 4:00 PM/16:00. After we got home I convinced by sister to play Hay Day with me by the fire, and later my mom joined in too (˶◜ᵕ◝˶). My mom made some minestrone for dinner (っ˘ڡ˘ς), and after that I had to do this experiment for my online marine science class. Basically I was supposed to figure out how high the salinity needed to be for the egg to float. Yeah… so it has been really disappointing so far :/. I thought I was going to be learning about sharks but I guess not •マ.

My sister had some homework to do, and my dad is still out of town, so my mom and I watched the last episode of the BBC’s Sherlock (☆∀☆). It was a rewatch for me; we started watching them together a year or so ago but we haven’t seen one in ages and we finally finished watching the series together so yayy ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝.

It is now 10:20 PM/22:20, so I plan to do some laundry and then go to bed :3.
