This morning was way warmer than we thought it was going to be. The temperature was in the low 50s (around 11°C) ٩(^ᗜ^ )و ´-.
We left the hotel at 8:00 AM and drove to a beach that we go to every time. It is on private property but open to the public. The path down to it is steep and muddy at times, and the beach itself is kind of hidden, so it’s much less frequented than the one we went to yesterday. The rocks were much less picked over, and my sister and I found lots of agates and quartz and sea glass (˶◜ᵕ◝˶).
We ate breakfast at the beach (pumpkin muffins from home (っ˘ڡ˘ς)) and then did our rock-picking. I found this cool green stinkbug hiding in the rocks, and my sister found several crayfish. We left the beach around 11:30 AM and went to Betty’s Pies for, well… pies ɿ(◉◞◉)ɼ, and my parents also got some lunch but my sister and I weren’t very hungry so we didn’t.
We went to the little beach nearby for a few minutes, and then we left for Duluth!! (๑>ᴗ<๑) We arrived at 2:30 PM/14:30 and went first to Global Village, which is my favorite store in the city ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡. We wandered around Canal Park a bit and then split up. I went with my mom to the DeWitt-Seitz Marketplace, and my dad and sister went elsewhere.
We got some chocolates at the marketplace’s candy shop, a cashew paw and orange gel thingy for me and two sea salt caramel chocolates for her. By now I was hungry but it was too late for lunch, so I ate the cashew paw as we went through the rest of the shops and it was basically a meal (0o0). It was like the size of my palm and had so much caramel in it. Probably only should’ve eaten half of it, not because calorie counting grr food evil ༼ง=ಠ益ಠ=༽ง but because that was kinda a sweetness overload (๑_๑).
We left the marketplace and started going to Bellisio’s, where we had planned to meet my dad and sister for dinner, but on the way we saw this antique shop so we went in there quickly. We’d never gone there before and it was so cool!! (∩˃o˂∩)★ There was this Stetson fedora from the 1950s made of black beaver felt and it was basically new with the box and everything (poor beaver though (◞‸◟ )) . There was also this leather-wrapped elephant from the 1960s that had a very cute face and tusks made of real bone.
We had to leave pretty quickly because they had gotten a table right before we went in. The food was so yummy (๑ᵔ⤙ᵔ๑)♡. I got the gnocchi without the meat and they have such good gnocchi there. And it came with this cheese sauce that was so good also (っ˘ڡ˘ς).
After dinner we got to go back to the antique shop, this time with everyone!! We wandered through there for a long time. It’s the biggest antique store that I’ve ever been in and it had all of these separate sections so my mom thinks that there are lots of independent sellers there, which checks out because each had a distinct vibe.
My sister and I found this really cool guitar and we played around with it for a while (neither of us plays so that is why I phrased it that way; though my sister does have a guitar). We found so much cool stuff there. There was this pink 1950s payphone that I found really cool. There were also lots of vinyls and cassette tapes and, um… CDs? ( ͡• _•) Since when are CDs antiques?【・_・?】Am I an antique now…? ( • ᴖ • 。)
I grew up with cassette tapes too, but I think that those started getting phased out in my early childhood. But CDs? Idk that’s crazy to me that those were there. I’m old already smh… (。 ◞ _◟)
But anyways it was super cool. It was dark and rainy when we left there, and we got back to our hotel at around 7:00 PM/19:00. Tomorrow we are going home (◡︵◡).
