We had our unit two test in History today. In German we mostly did grammatical stuff. German 212 might not be offered next semester because we don’t have enough people for it, though that might not matter since German is offered as a minor, so the college probably has to offer the class no matter what. Nobody knows ɿ(◉◞◉)ɼ.
So here’s the situation. One of my classmates is dropping his German minor because he found out that if he does, he can graduate a semester early, and, understandably, he doesn’t want to pay an extra 20 grand (o.o). One of them doesn’t have space in their schedule for it. One has to drop it because she can’t handle all of the coursework with the job she has. She works at an animal hospital and has a shift from 4:00 PM/16:00 to midnight, and she works three days in a row, so she has to do her homework super late on those days.
My classmate who is also a high school student says that he is dropping it because of sports. Our token old guy is going to be somewhere else I think, because there were jokes about putting him on Zoom. And one of them I think took the class because he thought he had to fill a language requirement he didn’t need to, and he didn’t ever want to take German. So that leaves me and this one girl, and that’s it (._.).
Next semester I am only going to have enough room in my high school schedule for one college class. I was planning to take German, but maybe I will be taking History instead. I think it would make me feel kind of guilty to drop German now, since I told the professor that I’m going to take it and since she would only have one student then (っ- ‸ – ς). But it would be really awkward to be in a class of two, and honestly I like my history class better. That would, however, leave me with a problem of how to continue my education in German. It is very important to me that I keep learning the language. I’ve tried teach it to myself before, because I wanted to spend more time on it in order to get to B2, and that kind of worked during the summer, but once school started it didn’t (ツ).
My dad picked me up and we went to the pho place. We got fist bumps from H (a waiter and I think the manager/owner[?] as well). Then I went to my English class. We basically did nothing. Next semester is going to be so boring. I’m going to have to go from taking two college classes and three high school classes to taking one college class and idk how many high school classes (five maybe?) High school classes are so boring. I can hardly stand them atp (=〜=).
Plus, because I go to a christian school (which I think should be illegal, because why the fuck are we indoctrinating children ¬_¬), I am going to have to take Christian Studies next semester in order to graduate. And the teacher is so incompetent, plus I have beef with her because she outed me as trans to my parents last year (¬⤙¬ ). She annoys me so much. And anyways it’s not even a real class. We always do the dumbest worksheets. And if you aren’t christian then you have two options: lie about everything and pain yourself with your answers or don’t and watch your grade plummet. Unfortunately I chose route two last year (the year that we got this new teacher), and so now unless I fake a wild conversion (and I would rather die lowkey), I am going to have to spend a whole semester answering questions like “How has god spoken to you?” with things like “He hasn’t.” Which gets dull fast, but it beats writing sappy shit and licking the teacher’s shoes to get an A.
It’s only yesterday that I realized how close it is to Samhain (∩╹□╹∩). I am going to finish building my altar this afternoon. I still need a picture of my grandma and some idea of what to offer her. I don’t know what she liked to eat besides some store-bought cookies and some dishes that I can’t cook. Maybe a muffin, or a cookie (╭ರ_•́). I could make pumpkin flavored desserts without raising my parents’ suspicion. I don’t want the dogs to find it, though, so idk where I am going to bury it after Samhain is over. I’d feel kind of bad burying a whole muffin or cookie, also. I have heard that it is acceptable to eat it afterwards but idk how that would work exactly. I mean it would be sitting out for two days, so it’d be really stale (。- .•).
I wrote that first part during my English class and right after school. Now it is 8:15 PM/20:15. We went to the library. After we got home my mom, sister, and I had mac’n’cheese for dinner and watched two episodes of Gilmore Girls. I finished building my Samhain altar (sort of). I need to borrow some black paint from my sister for the picture frames. Other than that, it is complete.
I learned about Patrick Stewart’s death at the library today, and then I saw more about it on PinkNews. I don’t know much about him, but I do know a little, enough to know that he was a very good person, and it makes me sad that he’s gone.
